About Mike:

I am a “middle of the pack” runner with seventeen marathons completed over the years. I’ve learned a lot about training and running the marathon during this time and would like to share my experiences with you in this series of columns. My goal is to help you to have a comfortable first marathon, or to improve your time in your next one.

Deb's Footnotes

I started running for fitness and fun and have been a late bloomer in the marathon event. As a mainly recreational runner I'd like to share the benefits of running from a less competitive point of view.
